Hunts Shopmobility has now closed. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last nineteen years.
After nearly 20 years of supporting people with limited mobility in Huntingdon, Hunts Shopmobility’s last day of operation was 29th March 2025.
This has been a difficult decision, but a combination of declining demand for our service, financial challenges, and the changing nature of the town centre means that continuing is no longer viable.
When Hunts Shopmobility was founded in 2006, we provided an essential service to help people access the high street after pedestrianisation. Over the years, shopping habits have changed, more people now own their own mobility scooters, and town centre accessibility has improved. As a result, demand for our service has fallen, while financial pressures have increased.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported Hunts Shopmobility over the years—our volunteers, trustees, staff, funders, and members. Your dedication has made a real difference in ensuring accessibility for so many people.
